Deb and Jon

Brewmasters

We are now brewmasters. Well, maybe not masters, but the first batch turned out quite well. Jon learned the art of brewing in his college house on Giddings and has passed on the art to a few others. We are actually two Christian school teachers, a civil engineer, and a seller of over priced patio furniture. The process is quite simple, malt and hops are boiled and put in a bucket for a week and then bottled. Next it ages for about 4 weeks and then you throw a party.

Brewing fits in with our simple living philosophy. We see where the product comes from, it saves us money, and builds community (as shown below).

Batch No. 2 is ready for drinking. We have now sampled it and it is not as good, but it is OK. We are now planning another party.

Batch No. 1, "Summer Brew," was a hit. We had a big party and finished off almost the whole batch. We will have to make the next one a little less tasty so we get to drink more of it ourselves.

Justin and I sampling the product before the party.

Kata and the Staggs enjoying the brew.
