In order to share with you what our experiences were like, we've set up links to each country that contain information, pictures, and some of our reflections. As well, we've tried something new by creating "photo journals" on specific parts or sights of our trip. Enjoy!

Pretrip

Way back during their college semester in England (Spring 1997), Deb and her friend Sarah Rinsema decided to do more traveling together, someday, somewhere. This Southeast Asia bike trip is proof that college dreams can be actualized!

Trip

At the beginning of our trip, biking 100 km in one day was a huge accomplishment for us. However, as we got in better shape, we soon were able to tackle that distance (and more) in less time and without feeling so tired. The way it seemed to work out was that we would bike for a few days (about five or so), and then spend a few days in a major city. Compared to some of the bikers we met along the way, we soon discovered that we were not "hard core" bikers. That was ok for us though because we wanted to do more in each country than just bike.

Posttrip

So, now we're back. What next? First, we're still process all the things we did and saw...and to be honest, we're struggling with it. After seeing how simply some of the people live, how can we continue to stockpile our closets with more and more clothes...(more)
