Our Itinerary for the Year

June 22 - Left Holland, MI with our car packed full and drove west

July 1 - Met up with Sarah and Aron and began a month of hiking in the Canddian ROckies

July 20 - Met up with Deb's brother Joel and hiked on Vancouver Island

July 26 - Met up with Deb's parents and toured Vancouver

August 1 - Left Vancouver and drove south to Redlands, CA via Yosemite

August 3 - Arrived in Redlands, spent a couple of days taking care of last minute details

August 05 - Left Redlands, CA, we board the plane with our bikes carefully packaged in bike boxes

August 07 - We met up with Dan and Sarah in Bali, Indonesia and begin biking into central Bali.

August 08 - The biking begins! We spent a month in Indonesia and island hop to Madura, Java, Sumatra

September 05 - We took the ferry up to Malaysia

September 06 - Entering Thailand's southern region, we biked for a week up the coast, spent time in Bangkok, biked in the central region and then explored the northern city of Chiang Mai.

September 30 - A two day slow boat trip took us into Laos

October 13 - We took a 30 hour bus ride from Vientiane to Vietnam's historical Hanoi. After exploring the northern region, we spent time biking down the coast before getting to Ho Chi Minh city and the Mekong Delta.

November 10 - Jon's birthday was a travel day into Phnom Penh, Cambodia where we spent a month volunteering with CRWRC

December 10 - Accompanied by our friend Nathania, we took a boat up to Siem Riep and visited the Angkor ruins for a few days

December 15 - We reentered Thailand and spent the last days of our trip back in Bangkok

December 20 - Returning "home" to California, we no longer worried about "carefully packaging" our bikes and just wheeled them right up to the baggage claim.

December 21 - Arrived in California to spend Christmans with Jon's family and relax.

January 22 - Left CA for a drive to Atlanta via Zion NP, Bryce NP, the Grand Canyon, and St. Louis.

Febuary 1 - Arrived at the Open Door

April 7 - Deb's birthday was a quiet day at the communities retreat center - Dayspring in Ellijay, GA

June 1 - Left the Open Door for Word and World in Philidalphia. Stopped in Washington DC for a visit with Justin and Kata

June 15 - Arrived in Guelph

July 25 - Spent a week at the cottage with Deb's fam.

August 3 - Went on a trip to Newfoundland.

August 16 - Finaly came back home.
